I'm Sorry

I don't get TV On The Radio. And it's not like I haven't tried.

Maybe we're just getting old. A kid tried to turn me onto them a couple years ago and I didn't really get it either.

Not that I dislike them, mind you, but I don't get all the hullabaloo . . .

There's hullabaloo about them? I'm much more out of touch than you.

Yeah, the kids dig 'em. Big reviews on Pitchfork, in Spin, etc. I gotta say, though, I saw them play live on Letterman and they were really good. Maybe it's one of those deals where you project what they're doing live onto the recorded work. I would go see them live, but I've listened to the records, and it just doesn't do it for me.

You know what I don't get? Pants. Don't you hate pants?

Does your boss know that put lame comments on my blog while you're at work?

Bill, I kind of get into TVOTR (probably not even the correct abbreviation of their name - shows you how 'in touch' I am). I found that I just have to appreciate 'hip new' music for what it is and not try to make it fit in the box of what I consider good music that I enjoy listening to regularly. If that makes any sense... BTW, what do you think of the Fleet Foxes? I am in love with their debut.
Oh, and I happen to like pants, Matt!

Only a fucking idiot would expect to get TV on the radio ... they're two completely different forms of media, douche-nozzle. Here's a clue: if you want to get TV, trying tuning in on a television; if you actually want to get radio, then try tuning in on a ... wait for it ... radio. Genius.

I like the "Young Liars" EP, but I can't listen to the rest. It sounds like really forced sophistication to me.

Or maybe it's my age.
